Outtest vs Eppo

Eppo, now Datadog Experiments, is built for data teams. It computes results from SQL models over your own warehouse, offers sequential, fixed-sample and Bayesian analysis with CUPED++, and inside Datadog ties each variant to performance data from RUM. Engineers build variants in code, and pricing starts at $450 per launched experiment a month on an annual plan.

Outtest is aimed at a different buyer. Its AI agents read your analytics and payment tools, find the biggest money leak, write the new version, run the test and call the winner on revenue per visitor, with no warehouse or SQL needed. It covers landing pages, pricing, trials, cancel flows, Meta ads and SEO, from $29 a month for 3 tests. Outtest is new, while Eppo names DraftKings, Zapier and Twitch among its customers.

Pick Eppo if

  • You have a data warehouse and a data team that owns metric definitions.
  • You already use Datadog and want experiments next to RUM, APM and product analytics.
  • You want sequential and Bayesian options, CUPED++ and SRM checks for high-stakes product decisions.
  • You want to keep your own feature flag system and analyze exposures from the warehouse.
  • You run a handful of large experiments a month and unlimited seats matter more than the price per test.

Pick Outtest if

  • You don't have a warehouse or SQL skills and want revenue straight from Stripe, Shopify, Paddle or another payment tool.
  • You want to run several tests a month for less than the cost of one Datadog experiment.
  • You want AI agents to find, build, run and call tests without engineers.
  • You test marketing surfaces like landing pages, pricing, trial offers, cancel flows and Meta ads.

The verdict

Eppo, now Datadog Experiments, is a serious tool for data-led companies that want warehouse-native analysis and already live in Datadog. For a small SaaS or ecommerce team, $450 per experiment and the need for a warehouse are hard to justify. Outtest fits teams that want revenue-judged tests on marketing and pricing surfaces run for them, from $29 a month.

Questions people ask

Was Eppo acquired by Datadog?+

Yes. Datadog announced the acquisition in May 2025 and ran the product as Eppo by Datadog. On April 2, 2026 it launched Datadog Experiments, powered by Eppo, and geteppo.com now says Eppo is Datadog Experiments.

How much does Eppo cost?+

Eppo is now priced as Datadog Experiments at $450 per launched experiment a month billed annually, $530 month to month or $575 on demand. An experiment only counts once it reaches 500 subjects and 3 days of data, and seats are unlimited.

Does Eppo have a visual editor?+

Not a point-and-click page editor. Eppo's docs describe no-code tests through JSON flags that developers set up once, and a Contentful integration lets marketers build experiments on CMS content.

What stats does Eppo use?+

Datadog Experiments supports sequential frequentist, fixed-sample frequentist and Bayesian analysis, with CUPED++ variance reduction and automatic sample ratio mismatch checks.

Can Eppo measure revenue from Stripe?+

Only through your warehouse. There's no payment tool connector, so Stripe data has to land in Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift or Databricks first. Outtest reads revenue from Stripe and other payment tools directly and judges every test on revenue per visitor.
