Outtest vs RevenueCat
RevenueCat and Outtest usually sit side by side rather than compete. RevenueCat runs purchases and subscriptions for iOS, Android and web apps, and its Experiments feature tests prices, trials and paywalls inside the app. Outtest connects to RevenueCat read-only as a payment data source and uses that revenue to judge tests on the website, pricing page, trial, cancel flow and Meta ads.
The line between them is the surface. If the test lives on an in-app paywall, RevenueCat Experiments is the natural tool, and Outtest doesn't test native app paywalls. If the test lives on the web pages around the app, Outtest covers it and judges each test on revenue per visitor, using the same RevenueCat data.
At a glance
| Outtest | RevenueCat | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Founders and small teams who want tests run for them and judged on real revenue, without a CRO specialist. | Subscription apps that want purchases, entitlements, paywalls and price tests in one place, especially teams already using RevenueCat for billing. |
| Price | From $29/month (3 tests a month). 20% off yearly. | Free until you track $2,500 in monthly revenue (MTR), then 1% of what you track, with Experiments included. Enterprise is custom. Paywalls, web funnels and A/B tests can also run on your own purchase backend for 1% of the MTR those tools track. |

Pick RevenueCat if
- You need a subscription backend for the App Store, Google Play or other stores anyway.
- Your tests are about in-app prices, trial lengths or paywall designs.
- You want results that follow lifetime value, not only the first purchase.
- You track under $2,500 a month and want to run price tests for free.
Pick Outtest if
- You want to test the website, pricing page, trial or cancel flow rather than the in-app paywall.
- You want AI agents to find where the funnel leaks, build the change and call the winner.
- You want Meta ad copy and SEO page groups judged on revenue too.
- You already use RevenueCat and want its revenue data to judge your web tests.
The verdict
For in-app paywall and price tests, RevenueCat Experiments is the obvious choice if you already run on RevenueCat, and Outtest doesn't do native paywalls. For the web side of the funnel, Outtest adds tests judged on the same revenue data. Plenty of teams will sensibly use both.
Questions people ask
Is RevenueCat Experiments free?+
Experiments is included in RevenueCat's Pro plan, which is free until you track $2,500 a month in revenue. After that you pay 1% of tracked revenue for the whole platform, with no separate charge for testing.
What can you test with RevenueCat Experiments?+
Prices, trial presence and length, intro offers, the number and mix of products, and paywall design, copy and images. Each experiment compares 2 to 4 Offerings.
How does RevenueCat decide a winner?+
It uses Bayesian stats to show each variant's chance to win against the control, with credible intervals. For revenue-based tests it also shows a predicted 12-month LTV winner. You decide when to stop; its docs say many developers treat 95% chance to win as enough.
Does RevenueCat test websites?+
It supports web paywalls and web-to-app funnels through RevenueCat Billing. It doesn't test marketing sites, pricing pages outside the app, or ads.
Can I use RevenueCat and Outtest together?+
Yes. Outtest connects to RevenueCat read-only as a payment data source. RevenueCat Experiments handles in-app paywall tests, and Outtest uses the same revenue to judge website, pricing page, trial and cancel flow tests on revenue per visitor.
