How RevenueCat charges

The Pro plan is free until you reach $2,500 in monthly tracked revenue (MTR). After that, the pricing page says you pay 1% of what you track. MTR is measured before the store's commission and taxes, so it's what the customer paid, not your payout. RevenueCat staff define it as all tracked revenue in a monthly billing period, including new subscriptions, renewals and one-time purchases.

Experiments, Paywalls, charts and integrations are all included. There's no separate charge for testing.

Enterprise is custom pricing for high-volume apps, with volume discounts, dedicated support and custom SLAs.

There's also a route for teams that keep their own purchase backend: use Paywalls, web-to-app funnels and A/B/n tests on their own, and pay 1% of the MTR those tools track.

A worked example for a small team

Take a subscription app that tracks $6,000 a month in gross purchases.

  • Under $2,500 MTR it would pay $0.
  • At $6,000 MTR, 1% of what it tracks is $60 a month, or $720 a year.
  • If good price tests lift it to $20,000 MTR, the bill becomes $200 a month.

Because MTR is measured before the store cut, an app that nets $4,200 after a 30% commission still pays on the full $6,000.

What drives the bill

  • Total tracked revenue, not test count. Running ten experiments costs the same as running none.
  • Gross, not net. Store commission doesn't reduce MTR.
  • Everything you track. Renewals and one-time purchases count along with new subscriptions.

Costs beyond the invoice

  • Setup. Experiments needs Offerings and a dynamic paywall. If your app hard-codes products, someone has to change that first.
  • Time. LTV-based results mature over weeks or months, so a price test ties up part of your traffic for a while.
  • Other tools. If you also run Superwall or a website testing tool, each bills separately.

Free plan or trial?

There's no trial. The free tier does the same job: under $2,500 MTR you get every feature, Experiments included, at no cost.

Questions people ask

Is RevenueCat Experiments free?+

Experiments is included in RevenueCat's Pro plan, which is free until you track $2,500 a month in revenue. After that you pay 1% of tracked revenue for the whole platform, with no separate charge for testing.

What can you test with RevenueCat Experiments?+

Prices, trial presence and length, intro offers, the number and mix of products, and paywall design, copy and images. Each experiment compares 2 to 4 Offerings.

How does RevenueCat decide a winner?+

It uses Bayesian stats to show each variant's chance to win against the control, with credible intervals. For revenue-based tests it also shows a predicted 12-month LTV winner. You decide when to stop; its docs say many developers treat 95% chance to win as enough.

Does RevenueCat test websites?+

It supports web paywalls and web-to-app funnels through RevenueCat Billing. It doesn't test marketing sites, pricing pages outside the app, or ads.

Can I use RevenueCat and Outtest together?+

Yes. Outtest connects to RevenueCat read-only as a payment data source. RevenueCat Experiments handles in-app paywall tests, and Outtest uses the same revenue to judge website, pricing page, trial and cancel flow tests on revenue per visitor.
