What Kameleoon is

Kameleoon launched in 2012 and has offices in Paris, New York, London, Toronto and Offenburg, Germany. It says more than 1,000 brands run tests with it, and it names Samsung, Toyota, Lidl, Best Western and Canada Goose among its customers. The platform covers web experimentation, feature management, mobile app testing, AI personalization, and product recommendations and search.

Prompt-Based Experimentation

PBX is now the center of the product. You describe the change you want in plain language, and AI generates the variation and can launch the experiment, without code or a WYSIWYG editor. You start in a Chrome extension, so you can build before installing any script on your site. A Figma integration lets you build from design mockups.

Kameleoon now describes PBX 2.0 as five agents: Ideate, Build, Configure, Analyze and Ship. PBX Ideate, announced in May 2026, scans a page, suggests test ideas and turns them into prompts. Kameleoon says it ranks ideas using insights from more than 20,000 past experiments.

Each prompt uses one credit, and Kameleoon says a typical experiment takes about 3. Starter plans come with 30, 100 or 200 credits a month, and unused credits don't roll over.

If you'd rather build by hand, Kameleoon still has its graphic editor for no-code variations, and a JavaScript and CSS code editor on Enterprise.

Stats

Reporting supports frequentist and Bayesian methods, sequential testing, multiple testing correction, CUPED, outlier handling and ratio metrics such as revenue per add to cart. Five automated health checks cover tracking, conversions and sample ratio mismatch, among others. AI reporting points out opportunities in tests that didn't reach a result.

Revenue tracking

Revenue goals take setup. You send the order value with a JavaScript API call, through a Google Tag Manager command queue, or with the SDKs' conversion tracking. On Shopify Plus, the integration tracks e-commerce events including transactions. Checkout conversions come through a custom pixel you add, and checkout pages themselves can't be tested.

Server-side, apps and compliance

Feature management and rollout, feature experimentation, mobile app testing and personalization are Enterprise capabilities, as are contextual and multi-armed bandits. Data warehouse connections to Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift and Databricks are premium add-ons. Security options include SSO, HIPAA compliance, EU or US data residency, and self-hosting the script.

Who it suits

Kameleoon suits marketing teams that want AI to take over building variants, and larger companies that need web, feature and app testing on one platform with strict compliance. Small teams should check the Starter limits first. It allows 10 experiments and 50,000 tracked users a month in one project, and experiments stop when the traffic quota runs out.

Pros and cons

What Kameleoon does well

  • A published starting price ($495 a month) and a 30-day free trial with no credit card.
  • PBX builds variants from plain-language prompts, and PBX Ideate scans a page and suggests ranked test ideas.
  • Sequential testing, multiple testing correction, SRM detection and holdouts are included in Starter.
  • Frequentist and Bayesian methods, CUPED, outlier handling and ratio metrics such as revenue per add to cart.
  • Web, server-side, feature flag and mobile app testing on one platform, with EU or US data residency, SSO and HIPAA compliance.
  • You can start building in a Chrome extension before installing any script on your site.

Where it falls short

  • Starter is capped at 10 experiments and 50,000 tracked users a month, and experiments stop when you hit the traffic quota.
  • Starter covers one project. Feature flags, mobile app testing, personalization and the code editor sit in Enterprise.
  • AI credits are limited each month and unused credits don't roll over.
  • Revenue goals need setup, through a JavaScript API call, a tag manager or the Shopify Plus integration.
  • Trial tests and data aren't saved if you don't upgrade.
